The shaker has a floral and ribbon and bow decoration as shown in a 1931 Dunbar catalog. The catalog states this is plate etched, but the decoration is not an etch. It is a frit-bearing clear paint/enamel/substance spread over an area masked with the pattern. The mask is removed and the item placed in an oven hot enough to fuse the frit paint/enamel/substance to the base glass, but not hot enough to melt the item.
