Jeannette Sierra Smoker's Set
Set has 5 pieces which include 3 ashtray, covered cigarette holder, and tray.

Another set like this was found for sale on eBay in March 2008. The seller generously wrote back and shared this delightful story with a forum member and gave us permission to share it in the gallery. The seller is in her 70s now.

"My oldest sister and I were shopping the day we found them. I was just out of high school, and she was thirteen years older. We stopped at the hardware store because Mr. Kozacik had a for sale sign on his 1924 truck. The truck was an old Graham and a landmark around town. He was still using it for deliveries, so she thought it strange that it was for sale. Anyway when we went inside, we found out he was retiring. He had cleaned out his basement and the store looked like a flash from the past. There were two of the cigarette sets so we each bought one. I just thought it was cute and was ready to leave, but my sister was excited about the 1931 newspaper they were wrapped in, it was the year she was born. So she asked Mr Kozachik what he knew about them. He said they were made by Jeanette. I remember because I have a cousin named Jeanette and thought it was funny.

I'm not a collector, but I kept it all these years. I did some research on Jeanette and found it looked like the pinwheel pattern. I also found that Sierra was made from 1931 to 1933. I have no physical proof that it's made by Jeanette... only the word of the hardware store owner and the date on the newspaper."
