Unknown Art Deco Vanity Bottle
This bottle is aqua or turquoise paint fired onto clear glass (the bottom is clear as you can see in one of the photos). Size: 6-3/4 in. tall, 2-1/2 in. wide at widest point.

The lid appears to be metal. The elephant on the lid is in relief, raised, from the surface and is also metal. Three deco elephant heads with trunks encircle the bottle. I have no idea what this was used for (probably bath salts or something dry, because the inside of the lid has a cardboard liner in good condition with no signs of liquid damage.)

update 3/29/11:
I recently found long lost information sent to me in 2004 by "Monica" who had the same bottle with a different lid and the following on labels:
(side label)
RUDEMAR
ANTOIL
TONIC
On the bottom of the bottle on a circular label:

ANTOIL
TONIC
Apply with pledget of
cotton before shampooing.
For extremely oily scalps use
each day until improved, then
twice a week.
$2.00
