Maryland Glass Co. Etch
This etch is a real puzzler, an almost identical etch was done by Fostoria and called Victory when it was made without a gold band and 766-1 with the gold band. According to Seate and Long in their "Fostoria Stemware" book it was only done on the narrow optic version of the 766 stem. The Fostoria 766-1 drawing in the Replacement's Limited book is shown on an optic stem with a gold band that looks almost identical to the band found on the Maryland stem and shown in Dale Murschel's book,"Glass of Cumberland Maryland Area"

One of the main differences in the two etchings is the smaller topper on the swag has less flourish to it on the Fostoria etch than the Maryland etch shows. In addition, the larger topper to the swag has a better defined and fuller center downward leaf on the Maryland stem, and the Maryland garland is thicker.

The Maryland Glass Company etch is unnamed.

The two upper parts of the swag alternate around the bowl of the stem.
