Northwood Dancing Ladies Urn/Lamp

Northwood Dancing Ladies Urn/Lamp
The Northwood Dancing Ladies urn/lamp were made late 1913 to early 1916. The urns had lids & the early lamps were sold with lids also, but almost immediately the lamp lids were discontinued because early bulbs were not exactly uniform in heat production & the lids routinely cracked/ split. The urns continued to have lids. The Northwood bases are not small at 13" height with a 7 1/2" diameter & the glass is 3/8" thick. This particular one used the same Clambroth color as their Bear bookends.

Fenton got the original mold when Northwood went under, but didn't produce the urn until sometime in the early 30's in yellow & jade green & I was told years ago that only a limited number were produced. After that the original mold was modifed removing the handles & 4-5 new molds were made including a smaller version of the urn.
