High Glaze Yellow Lovebirds Lamp with the original Lovebirds finial & cloth wiring. The base is the same base as in # 747 Consolidated vase designed by Reuben Haley and shown in Jack Wilson's book as a lamp and here as a vase.
.
t seems that the Haley designs attributed to Muncie Pottery for years have turned out to be mis-attributed. These Haley designs were actually produced by Stangl Pottery. Production dates primarily 1930s. Ken
Robert C. Runge Jr. states in "The Collectors Encyclopedia of Stangl: Artware, Lamps, and Birds : Identification & Values," that “Stangl's fabulous Lovebird lamps have long been erroneously attributed to Muncie Pottery. This, and other misconceptions regarding the Fulper-Stangl Pottery product lines are finally corrected in this volume." Jack Wilson, the Phoenix/Consolidated Glass authority, confirmed it to me. Turns out the Haley pottery designs were Stangl.
