Tiara's Empress Jewel Box and Cover made in their coral color in the mid-1980s. The set also included a tray, a basket, a vase, a small round footed bowl and a larger oval footed bowl.
There was considerable discussion in the Forum whether this is an original McKee piece in amber or a Tiara piece in coral or amber. Unless a McKee and a Tiara example in the relevant colors were in hand, it is impossible to distinguish them by color.
The most differentiating information comes from Stout, "The Complete Book of McKee Glass, 1972" where this glassware is described as follows: "The Louvre glassware was crystal glass moulded in high relief which featured figures of birds and floral motifs. The outside was in crystal satin finish and the inside surfaces were fire polished. Some pieces were available in all over frosted satin."
