L. E. Smith # 650/807 Tiny Hobnail Plate
Tom Felt, glass researcher and author of the book, L E Smith Glass Company: The First One Hundred Years", says that "The "educated guess" that this Leaf plate with hobnails was made by L. E. Smith can be verified, based on research at the factory. Not only do they have one of these plates in their glass "morgue," but it is part of a pattern of various serving pieces and candlesticks that I have taken the liberty of naming "Tiny Hobnail." Pieces in this pattern will usually be found with an applied decoration that is apparently meant to imitate a satin etch, overpainted with various floral designs. The pattern number for this plate is no. 650/807 and it was made circa 1938.
