The brim is anywhere from 3-1/2" to 3-3/4" wide. The hat is 2 - 2-1/2" tall. This milk glass hat was introduced in 1902 and reissued over succeeding decades. It was also sold for the American bicentennial celebration.
The number 2 or 3 mark inside the hat indicates these hats were originally issued as opal glass mustard jars with tin covers, according to Chas. West Wilson's Westmoreland Glass, p. 221. They were often painted with red, blue and other colors. Collectors called this an "Uncle Sam Hat."
