Grigg's etch is shown as a probable Central etch in Schmidt's book Central Glass Works . It is not known whether Central provided decorator services to nearby glass companies such as Fostoria or indeed how this gold encrusted, enameled version of the etch came to be created on a Fostoria vase.
There are variations here from the Grigg's etch shown in the book, most obviously the faces. Note the stylized faces in the gold bands to the right and to the left of the lattice and the rose medallions.
Until more information is available, this decoration has been assigned to the Unknown Etches category.
