Unknown Jar w/ Horse Head Lid

The bottom is cold painted, the opening is only 1-1/2" diameter. The jar has a grooved ring where the head fits so it is not loose. There is no plastic inner ring involved. Possibly for a vanity product, perhaps a special cream.
