One of two pocket (or auto) vases known to have been made in Lonaconing. A considerable number of clear examples of the two vase styles were found in the home of the Innskeep family. Which of the Lonaconing companies was the maker had remained a mystery for some time.
A dig at the factory dump site, held as part of the MAGWV’s Gathering in October, resulted in a group of individuals hitting a pocket containing about a dozen shards of the two styles of vases in amber. The color of the shards confirmed the vase was made by Utility.
The car vase is 7-¼" tall and
six sided - stopping just short of the top - and indented 1" from the bottom.
