According to Tom Felt, "The Clydesdale was made by Heisey from 1942-1948 and the garishly decorated ones ...[like this one] are from that period, though Heisey did not do the decoration themselves. A few Clydesdales were made by Imperial in clear satin; the number was so small (about 10)..." This type of decoration was done by Abels, Wasserberg & Company of New York in their Charlton Naturalistic line.
