Indiana # 257 Cream & Sugar
This line has only been seen in the creamer and sugar. It has been found pictured in a 1930's Indiana Glass Co. catalog with the Indiana Dancer etch and also in a 1950's Indiana Glass Co. catalog with the # 604 Sprecial Decoration.

This set has caused some confusion. It is identical to Westmoreland's # 1211 set. And this set is pictured in the book Westmoreland Glass by Chas West Wilson. The set pictured in the book has the Indiana Ships decoration on it.

The Westmoreland 1211 sets all have a slight bump under the creamer spout. Click on 1211 under keywords to see a 1211 creamer.

There are some possiblities to explain this.

1. Indiana bought the mold from Westmoreland to go with its # 602 line.

2. Westmoreland sold the blank glass to Indiana who then decoarated it.

3. One company copied the other's design.

The floral enamel decoration shown here has only been seen on pieces of glass from other Indiana lines.

You can also find this sugar and creamer set decorated with variations of Indiana's Classic Moderne decoration.
