Unknown Compote with Copper Base
This compote is also found with colorful painted bases. New Martinsville did something similar with their radiance pattern but their base was silver.

The glass pattern is almost identical to Indiana's #1016 Village Guild Pattern but the glass is much thinner according to Craig Schenning, author of "A Century of Indiana Glass."

It has been reported that this piece has been found in a 1979 catalogue for the Princess Glass Company on an Ebay discussion board.

Another board member said that in the 1970s she worked for the Copper Craft Guild Company that made the bases for these. She said the products were usually sold in house parties which is also the method used by Princess House. She also said that most of the glass used by that company was bought from Indiana Glass .

This identification seems appropriate since this piece is so often found . If anyone on the board sees the catalogue, please let us know.
