Hocking #6103 Spiral Optic
These pieces were made by Monongah Glass. The 6103 sizes of this tumbler is shown on page 278 of "Colored Glass of the Depression Era, Book 2" by Hazel Marie Weatherman. Weatherman only illustrates the "Spiral" pattern in Line 6102, not 6103. Jim Retzloff identifies these pieces as Hocking Spiral because all current reference books are including the Monongah Spiral Optic 6103 Vase in the Hocking Spiral Listings. It would appear that Monongah Spiral Optic items which swirl up to the left are are collected as Hocking Spiral at the present time. As Monongah was part of the Hocking group, this is probably acceptable. The Monongah Line #6103 tumblers are very similar to the #6102, except the lips are straight-sided instead of flared.

The items may be found in crystal, iridescent crystal, and the shown iridescent crystal with green trim (cold finish) .Gene Florence has also listed an iridescent crystal with red trim.
