The pattern on this tub is very close to Imperial's #787 line first called Tropical and later called Bambu which was produced in the 1960s and early 1970s. Research of this pattern has found that the Imperial pattern was not made in this color. Closer examination of the pattern also reaveals that the bamboo pattern on the Imperial pieces is solid like that of a bamboo fence while the tub shown has a blank space between each bamboo pattern.
"Imperial Glass Encyclopedia, Vol I" edited by James Measell says that this was a very popular pattern almost immediately a copycat pattern was produced by an Italian maker. Perhaps this is part of that production but details of it are unknown.
