Candleholder has a ruffled rim. Glass is very thick.
Tom Felt, author of the book, "L. E. Smith Glass Company, The First Hundred Years" says "This candlestick is L. E. Smith's no. 1402, made circa 1937-1958. It is also a good example of the perils of glass research. When my co-authors and I wrote the first volume of The Glass Candlestick Book we incorrectly identified it as being Anchor Hocking, based on a family history from someone on eBay that a pair had been brought home from the factory by a father who worked there for 40 years. There are, in fact, two different versions of this candlestick and I found both of them pictured in two of the very few early catalog pages that have survived at L. E. Smith. This example is the earliest version, which was made up until circa 1949."
