Cherished Glass Wares Mark
Cherished Glass Wares Mark

Cherished Glass Wares Mark
Found on an L. E. Smith horse vase about 5-6" high.

Tom Felt writes "He was named Carol's Sure Win and was made in crystal and various colors (including some with carnival finishes) for Mary Walrath circa 1979-1981. She was the owner of Cherished Glass Wares (hence the CGW mark). Some sources state that he was made from an older mold acquired from Westmoreland, but since the Smith's inventories list a horse vase that was made in the 1940s, I suspect it is Smith's own mold. There is also a 2 1/4" high version of this cutie, which is known to toothpick collectors as "Horse and Leaves." Although I found no absolute evidence for the latter, I assume it is Smith as well."
