Heisey #1280 Winged Scroll

Heisey #1280 Winged Scroll
This item measures 5.25" from end to end and 3.5" across. Stands 2" high and has dip in both ends. We believe it is an olive dish; a pickle is the other possibility.

Heisey Winged Scroll #1280 was produced 1899-1901. A major early pressed pattern which contains some unusual items was available in Crystal, Ivorina Verde (shown), Emerald, Canary, and Opal. No item in this pattern is marked with the "Diamond H".

Heisey's gold trim and hand painted rose decorations are often found on some items. A trinket box and a puff box made by the Jefferson Glass Company may be confused with this pattern, but the only shared color was Crystal, in which Heisey's is very hard to find. In addition, Jefferson's has a bar across the narrow area below the wings, while Heisey's has a row of three dots.
