New Martinsville "Notched Hexagon" Candleholder with Acanthus etch
Per Tom Felt: Robert Carlson, who you may recall did some excellent articles on New Martinsville for Craig's magazine, corresponded with me about this pattern, since it also includes a previously unattributed candlestick (not shown in our books). According to Bob, "This particular picture
shows the pattern I am calling "Notched Hexagon." ... I am also sending a picture of a center-handled tray with the same rim.
The handle is a well-known NM handle, having been used on lines 34, 35, and 36. I don't know who did the etch, but so far I have seen it only on NM blanks."
