Very similar to both Fostoria and L.E. Smith Rearing Horse book ends. The NM horses can be distinguished from the others by the shape and position of the head, which is fuller than the other two and more tucked toward the neck. The L.E.Smith version has a different mane as well and is the easiest to ID of the three.
Fun facts according to James Measell's NM Glass 1900-1940: Workers were making these as early as 1940 and were required to make 200 of them in a 5 hour turn. The presser was paid $5.49, the Gatherer $4.39, and the Finisher $4.94. Probably from one of the molds received from Wiel Freeman, a subsidiary of Wiel Ceramic Co. in Sept. of 1940.
