The L.G. Wright Museum and the L.G. Wright Glass Company closed during the liquidation auction of the remaining assets, including the real property, held on Memorial Day weekend of 1999, May 27-31. The molds and equipment were sold the first day of the auction. (That first day was when the Paden City etching plates were sold as scrap to a scrap dealer). As the plates were just about finished being loaded onto the dealer's truck, somehow Dean Six and Tom and Neila Bredehoft became aware of the plates' existence and bought them from the scrap dealer, and the rest, as they say, is history.
