The design on the C&S goes in one direction and in the opposite direction on the plate. Ground bottoms on all the pieces. The cup is the deco Heisey #4044 New Era line, but the saucer and plates are from a round line.
According to Bredehoft, Heisey Glass 1925 - 1938, Collector Books, p.242, New Era was used in other patterns:
"Several (New Era) pieces...were etched and cut by Heisey and added to cut patterns as accessory pieces...Several of the pieces such as the cup, cream and sugar were used as part of the #2323 Navy line."
The Navy Line, p.274, includes the cup and a round saucer. Although the Navy line used cobalt blue bases on their crystal pieces, it may not have been the only other line to use round pieces with the New Era cup. |
