Heinrich Hoffmann Plate
Decorative pressed glass plate made by Heinrich Hoffmann, designed by Henry Schlevogt, 1930s Czech.

This small (6-1/2 inch) decorative plate is made of opaque marbled malachite green glass. The plate is pressed glass, ground and polished. The intricate design is of birds and berries. Henry Schlevogt created the line of glass called "Ingrid," named after his daughter. In the 1930s, Schlevogt worked with his father-in-law, Heinrich Hoffmann. Their factory in Polubný, Czech-Republic, produced this line of glass. The plate has one flaw on the back, an narrow open line. The flaw doesn't go through to the front of the plate. The plate has Heinrich Hoffman's pressed butterfly mark shown here: http://chataboutdg.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=20235
