Federal Normandie Plates
The dinner and grill plate are shown in Federal Normandie's iridescent finish called "Sunburst." According to Weatherman's "Colored Glass of the Depression Era," (book 1), this finish was achieved by spraying iridescent amber onto Normandie-patterned crystal and then carefully fired--so well, it appears to be Carnival, but isn't. Normandie in this color was used for premiums.

Normandie is a mold-etched pattern that was made in amber, pink, crystal and "Sunburst" iridescent in 1933-1939. A few pieces in green were also made.
