Akro Agate Vase
Akro Agate Vase

Akro Agate Vase
The photos on the left and right are of the same vase. The one on the left was taken under a black light. Vase is 3 inches tall. Akro made two styles of this vase. The other style has a flatter base.

On page 65 of The Complete Line of the Akro Agate Company by Roger and Claudia Hardy* is a photo showing urns with two different styles of foot. One is uniformly flat; the other curls up at the tip.

It appears that the fancier style (also usually found in solid colors) were special order items made for companies like Vogue Mercantile. I have two solid examples marked N.Y.C. Vogue Merc. Co. U.S.A. The marbelized or traditional Akro colors all seemed to be marked with the Akro 'crow'.
