The Wheeling version of this popular theme has a small fruit at the tip of one of the vines that divides the sets of three roses. The middle rose is enclosed by four triangle shaped leaves.
Most other Rambler Rose patterns have two pieces of fruit hanging down.
James Webster indicates in his book "Wheeling Decorating Company" that it is quite possible that this pattern was modified during it's long use at Wheeling but all the Wheeling plates have not been found so this cannot be verified.
